Twitter’s New Flat Rate Ads Program is Limited to the US – For Now

Updated: Aug 12, 2019

One major benefit of working with a digital marketing agency like Digipave is early access to new features and programs. We were therefore excited this week when Twitter reached out via email offering a number of our clients “a free seat in the beta audience of our newest program. ” This program is non-other than Twitter’s newly released flat rate ads product.

As we wrote earlier this month on the Digipave blog, Twitter recently announced a new private beta program that will amplify your tweets automatically. The program is free for the first  30 days and then costs $99 a month. The beta program is geared towards individual users or small business and not large brands. Until this point, joining the program is by invitation only.

When we reached out to a Twitter representative about invites for some of our non-US clients, we were told “This pilot is for US only at this point.  We hope to open it up at a later date though.”  As initial feedback to the program has been mixed, Twitter is surely keeping a close eye on their new flat rate subscription service and how it impacts both the company’s revenue and the overall user experience.

Once we get word that Twitter’s new program has expanded to international accounts, we’ll let you know right here on the Digipave blog. In the meantime, we’d love to hear your thoughts and feedback about Twitter’s new subscription model for ads. Let us know what you think in the comments below, on Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn.
